About the Artist

Aloha, my name is Christina and I create mountain-inspired wall art using primarily wood. I love to add hand-lettered designs using modern calligraphy. I live and make in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA. I’ve always been a maker, but Mauka Designs, LLC was officially registered in early 2017. I started focusing more on wood working when my father passed away unexpectedly in 2018. I used wood working as therapy and I have developed skills to create the art I envision.

I have slowly collected hand tools & power tools for my small, home-based shop. I am a full-time mom of two young children (1.5 years, and 3 years) by day and a woodworker by naps/nighttime.

Mauka (mao-kah) is a Hawaiian word meaning “toward the mountains” in the context of directions. I moved to the mauka side of the mainland from Hawai’i in 2013.

I am a Green Beret Spouse-Owned Business featured on the Green Beret Foundation website.

Thank you for shopping at small businesses. Every purchase is noticed and helps fuel my passion.
